Hi Everyone,
I heard you had a great class yesterday. It sounds like you all have a few questions so I will try to clear them up. Also, please make sure your classmates get this if they don't check their RIC email. I will also post this on our blog.
1) My understanding is that your miscue needs to be posted on Chalk and Wire like your other assessments (those of you who are undergraduates this is absolutely true). I have included Dr. Niska on this email so he can answer for graduate students. John, do they have C&W and do they need to post?
2) Your presentations for Lit. Circles are really for three reasons. I want the rest of the class to hear about the books, I want you all to think about literature circles and share your learnings, you have learned a lot of ways to teach and I want to see you teaching since I don't in this class. This is not something I am doing to add stress to your world, I don't want to do all of the talking in class, you all read the books, your time to shine :)
I think that is it but let me know if I forgot anything,
I'm not familiar with Chalk and Wire. How do we access or set-up this account? I've only used blackboard in other graduate level classes. Please advise, thank you.
ReplyDeleteDo not worry. You don't need to do chalk and wire.
ReplyDeleteI have a question regarding the formal lesson plans...are we writing 3 in all?
ReplyDeleteIs it 1 lesson to accompany the miscue analysis paper, addressing the student's needs and then 2 literacy-based lesson plans for our specific content areas?
I think there is confusion. You only have two do 2 lessons total. If you decide that one of your lessons will connect with the miscue..great...if not just two lessons showing how you are working on literacy in your content area. Let's keep this easy :)
